Social Communication
Social communication refers to our social use of language.
If your child has difficulty with social communication, you may notice they:
Don’t use language for a variety of reasons such as greeting others, commenting, requesting, or making a demand
Are not able to adapt their language with different communication partners or in different situations
Have difficulty following conversational rules such as taking turns in conversation and staying on topic
